Ian graduated from Staffordshire University(UK) in 2008 with a BSc (Hons) in Forensic Computing and has since gainedextensive expertise across the forensic, incident response, data recovery, and e-Discovery industries. Recognised as an Expert Witness, Ian is an accepted authority in New Zealand courts and has provided testimony in both District and High Court trials.
Ian obtained his CFCE in October 2014 and recertified in 2017, 2020, and 2023. He earned his CMDE in December 2016, renewing it in 2020 and 2023. InAugust 2017, he achieved the CAWFE certification, also recertified in 2020 and 2023.
Ian provides guest lecturing to students studying Cyber Security andDigital Forensics at Victoria University (Wellington, NZ) and is often invited to present at security seminars.
Ian served as Chairperson for nine years at IACIS (International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists), where he contributed to the development and instruction of their Advanced Windows Forensic Examiner course.
